Above & Below Stewardship Report Launched at Ecofest

Gladstone Healthy Harbour Partnership (GHHP) launched the fourth annual edition of Above & Below at Ecofest on Sunday 2 June, 2024.

GHHP's Project Officer, Hannah King, says that the publication is an encouraging read as it highlights the many incredible environmental stewardship actions that organisations are undertaking across the region to help preserve our environment for generations to come.

"The Stewardship Report is a collaboration between our partner organisations to provide a set of stories that detail the actions that they're taking within Gladstone to monitor and improve the health of Gladstone Harbour', explains Hannah. "This edition includes everything from company-wide litter collection competitions and sea bird monitoring projects to vital conservation work being undertaken to save the endangered Capricorn Yellow Chat."

"We launched the fourth edition of Above and Below at Ecofest last Sunday in collaboration with Gladstone Regional Council. As part of this launch, we gave a presentation on stage with CQUniversity’s Coastal Marine Ecosystems Research Centre (CMERC) Director Professor Emma Jackson and Richard Haward from Gladstone Ports Corporation who provided insights into their respective stewardship projects."

GHHP wishes to acknowledge this edition's contributors: Gladstone Ports Corporation Ltd, CQUniversity CMERC, Gladstone Air Quality Community Group, Queensland Alumina Limited, Boyne Smelters Limited, Rio Tinto, Gidarjil Development, Port Curtis Harbour Watch, Fitzroy Basin Association, Gladstone Regional Council, and Shell's QGC Business.
